The core of the board is made from plywood. One layer of lacquer is applied to the plywood, which is left to dry. Several coats of lacquer are applied over a two weeks period.
Lacquer is a natural resinous sap that comes from plants. Lacquer paintings have a unique depth and lustre - the lacquer finish is glossy and colors are vivid.
